Dermot Lambert – Tiny
Dermot Lambert, frontman and songwriter of Dublin band Blink, released his debut solo album, Tiny, in June 2013.
In 1994 Blink released their debut LP, A Map of the Universe (1994), on EMI Records and followed up with The End Is High (1998) and Deep Inside the Sound of Sadness (2004). Their debut spawned 4 hit singles, Going to Nepal, Happy Day, It’s Not My Fault and Cello which led to arena tours with the likes of Crowded House, Moby, The Ramones, Mercury Rev and Lloyd Cole. U.S. music magazine, Billboard, named The End is High their ‘five star album of the month’ on its release and Deep Inside the Sound of Sadness was nominated as Best Irish Album of the Year at the 2005 Meteor Music Awards.
Since 2005 Lambert has kept busy helping other bands like The Script blaze a trail as long as Blink’s with the now legendary Garage Gigs which more recently have incorporated the Irish Youth Music Awards and the Garageland Boot Camp.
Tiny was recorded over 18 months in Dublin and produced and mixed in New York by producer Howie Beno, who’s currently twisting knobs on Depeche Mode and Katy Perry releases. The album features the singles Twinkle Twinkle Satellite, Bank in Brazil and Hey Seán which was used on the high profile “Green Ribbon campaign.”
