The Elation are back with a bang in 2019 with a brand new single and accompanying video for ‘Ready or Not’
2018 saw the band’s debut EP ‘Clickbait’ reach no.3 in the official Irish indie charts. This led to a flurry of nationwide radio play and appearances, and saw the lads perform at Electric Picnic, Indiependence Festival and Townlands Carnival.
‘Ready or Not’ sees the band return with this thumping indie rock track, that tackles mental health head on. It was recorded in London with Andy Whitmore who produced Clickbait.
It deals with learning to cope with various forms of anxiety (in this case mainly Panic, Social Phobia, and General Anxiety Disorder effects).
However, with ‘Ready or Not’, the message is about more than just feeling stuck in that rut. It’s about overcoming, and with the help of communication, friends & family you can pull yourself and those around you out of that place.
With a pulsating tempo and frantic pacing expect driving guitars, thunderous drums & soaring vocals.
‘Ready or Not’ by The Elation is available to stream on Spotify & YouTube February 15th 2019.
A survey of newly engaged couples has revealed that more and more Irish couples are avoiding Church weddings in favour of more personal and intimate civil ceremonies.
Leading wedding singer Ingrid Madsen has revealed that a survey of couples she has been in contact with has revealed that over the last number of years are ditching the church affair and holding civil ceremonies and guests are delighted!
“It’s a common theme, churches can be difficult to deal with, restrictive and often miles away from the reception that evening. Couples are making their big days more personal and more about them and their families and friends. It makes perfect sense especially given the cultural diversity Ireland is so lucky to embrace”
Ingrid Madsen has been performing at weddings and civil ceremonies for 15 years and is widely regarded as one of Ireland’s finest vocalists. Ingrid also performs with Picturehouse front man Dave Browne in the Controversial Allstars and has recently released her own original material under the name “Ping”

Ahead of their upcoming show in The Academy on November 23rd, PictureHouse have released a re-recorded live version of their 1998 hit “Love in the streets”
Recorded by the band in October 2018 in Jealoustown studio, the live recording was the first time that all 5 original members of Picture House – Dave Browne, Duncan Maitland, Geoff Woods, Aongus Ralston and Johnny Boyle have performed together in over 19 years.
The band said of the reunion: “I always hoped it would come around at some point, with the original line up and to play those songs again, Give them a good airing! It’s just like having the family back together!”
This year marks the 20th anniversary of “Karmarama” – which went gold in Ireland after a string of hit singles including “Sunburst”, “Love in the streets”, “All the time in the world” and “Only a friend”. “Karmarama” was start of an eventful time for PictureHouse which included stadium tours with the like of The Corrs and Meatloaf whilst also headlining their own tours which included sold out shows in The Olympia, The Point Depot and Shepherd’s Bush Empire amongst hundreds of venues.
Tickets for the show in The Academy are on sale now from Ticketmaster.ie and support on the night will be indie act Inhaler.
Summer 2018 will live long in the memory of The Elation.
The first two singles from their debut EP garnered huge radio support across Ireland and the UK. “Clickbait” was then released in June via Top 6 and went straight into the Irish Indie Charts at #3. A milestone for most artists and labels.
The band then went on a tour of festivals and radio stations around Ireland. Their electric live shows including a showstopping performance at Indiependence became renowned and the band were selected and invited to appear at Electric Picnic later this month in Stradbally.
The next track “Feels Like A Good Reason To Get Started” was used in the Indiependence aftermovie and is released on August 31st to co-incide with their appearance at Electric Picnic.
“Feels like a good reason to get started” is a bittersweet serenade set to a floor-filling pop-dance beat. The song was written about coming to the realisation that a relationship has run its course and you find yourself procrastinating the inevitable breakup for not wanting to hurt your other half.
Furthermore a limited number of cassette copies of Clickbait have been produced. For links for all streaming, download, cd and cassette options visit www.top6.ie/theelation
